Lafarge Zambia is looking to recruit dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic and qualified individuals in various Departments based at Chilanga and Ndola Plants as follows:

Receiving and Replenishment Officer -2

Responsibilities

Ensure that stock levels are maintained at optimum levels by ordering and expediting all spares without the over or under stocking of the number of items kept in stock.

Regularly follow up with suppliers regarding outstanding deliveries and ensure that they are received promptly.

Use and Maintain the stores management system so that it reflects the correct information for use by himself, all stores personnel and the end users of the stock items.

Runs Replenishment Report to determine which items have reached ROP. Evaluates and reviews regularly with maintenance ROP, EOQ, Stock Category

Communicates monthly to end users, all receipts (spares & raw materials) with their respective quantities and bin locations.

Places orders for items on ROP and ensures all purchase requests from end users are fully verified physically for availability before placing orders

Maintains JDE/Maximo by ensuring that it is always up to date for all users Determines and resolves issues with suppliers that might be threatening on time delivery of items

Sectional Engineer - 1

Responsibilities

To ensure completion of mechanical maintenance jobs with the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximise equipment availability. Embrace preventive and predictive maintenance practices and contribute to their improvement.

Responsible for the execution and the quality of maintenance work to be carried out on mechanical equipment, respecting budget, polices and deadlines

Contribute in his field, to the development of working methods and definition of procedures and ensure their implementation.

Optimise maintenance operations, using best available tools and procedures in order to maximise equipment availability.

Ensure proper day-to-day scheduling of works and necessary resources.

Assign and review work to perform with the craftsmen and ensure scheduled works are completed and closed in MAXIMO and feedback is given to Planning.

Ensure, upon completion of repairs, that equipment is in good operating condition, ready to meet operational requirements, fully inspected, tested, clean and safe and officially handed over to production.

Ensure on-going skills enhancement of his team’s employees, helping the development and implementation of training plans.

Coach his team’s employees.

Ensure safety of his team and equipment under his/her Area of responsibility at all times.

Keep himself informed of general plant practices so as to ensure “on-call” duty

Kiln Coach - 1

Responsibilities

To regularly review and challenge the Operator’s actions in a positive manner with the objective of developing Operator excellence.

To review actions or decisions that are related to kiln optimization in order to preserve the mentoring relationship with the Operators.

To teach specific modules on kiln control, and operational incident procedures.

Increase the potential of Operators and improve their performance through coaching.

Identify and assist in closing skills gaps among the Operators.

Evaluate production equipment performance gap and set actions for improvement.

Implement a production continuous standard operating procedure review process by production operators.

Promote and enforce the application of the Plant Production Department’s best practices Implement and manage an operator incident review log system.

Country Security Manager - 1

Responsibilities

To analyse the threats and assess the risks faced by the Company at Country level.

Coordinate the cascading of the Lafarge Group Security Policy, the guidelines and information to all sites.

Supervise the guidelines implementation, update plans and procedures and liaise with the Site Managers.

Draw up the security master plan for the activities within the Country.

Control the level of the site physical protection.

Lead security audits in accordance with the Business Unit guidelines.

Develop an information network with the local Police and Security authorities and liaise with those authorities in the event of a major incident.

Support the Site Managers in case of crisis management.

Assist the Site Managers on how to manage the private Security Companies.

Logistics Officer – 1

Responsibilities

To increase sales and profitability of the Binastore business and position its network to be a category provider and assist in reinforcing the retailer as the full service store of choice by delivering good consumer value through; efficient transport and logistics channel, sound and reputable name in fulfilment of payments to Contractors and Suppliers and offering world class customer care and service across the network.

Design and manage dispatch schedules in order to meet customer requirements.

Continuously identify scope and implement improvements to delivery of product to the customer at the most efficient mode of transport and at optimum cost in order to meet the current and future needs of the customer.

Forecast logistical needs prompted by product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory.

Ensure that the Truck Turn- around Time (TT) (Gate in and Gate out) is optimised by quick processing of orders and loading of trucks are coordinated.

Maintain service level agreements with transporters and Customer service and monitor performance through agreed standards.

Ensuring the dispatch function of the business operates within the set business processes and control processes.

Manage relationships with key customers where deliveries are going and meet their expectations — cement & other building products.

Ensure that the loading and unloading schedules are communicated to transporters.

Present analysed reports to the business on a daily/weekly basis.

Set—up controls and Standard Operating Procedures to supervise the

Binastore Delivery Driver and delivery processes.

Category Specialist - 1

Responsibilities

To contribute to the bottom-line savings and revenue, by proactively participating in driving initiatives for acquiring products and services

To carry out sourcing and procurement activities in compliance with Legislation, Group Procurement Guidelines, Company Policies, Procedures and ethical guidelines.

To carry out regular market research and analysis on sources of products and services to reduce supply risk and increase leverage on volumes.

Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services.

Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands.

Determine the positioning of product categories to maximize visibility.

Liaise with Sales & Marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of product categories.

Forecast product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory.

Form functional partnerships with customers to understand demand and forecast for products and services in order to meet customer needs.

Manage source production, in-transit and inventory of products as well as efficiently coordinate end -to-end supply chains for products.

Conduct on going supplier review.

Ensure all Lafarge employees and by extension the Contractor employees engaged in Lafarge work on and off site work safely and all work areas conform to the Company’s Health and Safety requirements

Retail Network Sales Representative - 2

Responsibilities

To recruit franchise and affiliation Store Partner entrepreneurs and drive sales through the network in order to achieve the business’ volume and margin ambitions within the framework of the Department’s objectives and yearly action plans.

Develop sales area and top ten Customer action plan and review the same on a regular basis.

Ensure sales of company products, services and benefits by responsible presentation, adherence to company standards and graphics.

Develop and maintain relationships with customers, understanding the drivers of business in each segment of one’s territory and evolution of customer needs that may be the basis of development of new or improved products.

Identify knowledge gaps and training needs for the Network Partners and organisation/recommendation of relevant training with the view of increasing sales.

Regularly review account receivable position of all customers under one’s responsibility and, in liaison with the Accounts Receivables Manager, ensure that all customers trade within approved trading terms.

Regularly collect intelligence information which includes but is not limited to pricing, competitor activities such as promotions, expansion plans and trading terms, volume of imports coming through one’s region and report to management.

Ensure smooth execution of approved marketing driven promotional activity in area of responsibility in liaison with Marketing Department.

Monitor and follow-up on progress of refurbishment of containers and stores by the contractor in line with the scope of works communicated to them.

Manage the process of land acquisition with and outside the local councils around the country in locations that meet the business’ strategic aspirations and target customers for potential placement of containers for the Binastore franchise.

Conduct site visits and validation for potential franchise store location to ensure that they meet the businesses strategic, health and safety standards.

Compile monthly reports for management on the network.

Maintain oversight on the profitability of the stores for sustainability of the network.
