The Company seeks the services of COST ACCOUNTANTS reporting to the Business Controller at our Nkana Mine Site.

The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining and controlling operating and capital expenditure, and also for providing managenent with financial data as required order to facilitate timely decisions.

Duties, will among others, include:

Preparation of departmental budgets in conjunction with Business Unit Managers.
Preparation and submission of monthly cost reports/reconciliation & cost comments to Depertmental Managers and Business Controllers for incorporation in the Management Report
Creation and mantenance of an efficient and cost reduction reporting framework that ensures only validated cost revenue generation measures are reported.
Explaning costs/budgets and helping responsibility holders in controlling
Investigating abnormal costs, costs and reconciling corrective action.
Monitoring the efficiency of system generated reports related to cost and appropriate changes
Provide support capital and forecasting and ensure all requests to the capital expenditure adhere to the capital expenditure approval process and policy.
Generation of Contractors reports for jobs done in the Department/Plants.

To be considered, you must have:

Grade 12 Certificate
ZICA Degree in Chartered Accountant qualification (i.e. CA Zambia, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
At least two years industry experience
Key to the success of this portfolio is the incumbents ability to work on his/her own initiative, think analytically, good communication skills, customer excellence orientation and team work.

Sectional Ventilation Officer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating all underground activities which include airflow surveys, dust sampling, inspections, record wet-dry bulb readings and gas sampling in order to meet production targets in the most safest, efficient and effective manner at minimum labour and operational costs.

Duties will, among others. include:

Regularly inspect and test workplaces to ensure adequate ventilation flows and atmospheric contaminants are as low as can be reasonably achieved
Operate, calibrate and maintain instrumentation
Conduct, record and report any atmospheric contaminant sampling requested by an Inspector
Record the wet and dry bulb temperatures of all workplaces where conditions could adversely affect the safety and health of persons
Report promptly to the Manager any defect or deficiency in the ventilation at the mine or any atmospheric contaminant level in a workplace that exceeds the exposure standard
Provide guidance to any technician employed to assist.
Drive the health, safety and environment standards/policy awareness and practice in the
Department to ensure compliance.
